But thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Melanated Cares is changing that story. In 2024, we awarded over $7,500 in scholarships — and this year, we’re tripling that number.
A Student’s Dream Becomes Real
Take Amaya, a high school senior with dreams of becoming a nurse. She’s the first in her family to pursue higher education, but tuition and supplies felt impossible. When she received a scholarship from Melanated Cares, her tears turned into determination. “Now I know someone believes in me,” she said.
